Cord Sheets.
When guitar players play they often do not read the traditional sheet music. Instead they read cord sheets. Cord sheets will have the words to the song and the cords or the notes that they have to play on top of the words to the song.
Understanding how to build a cord and playing it will become important over time, but for the purpose of this class, I simply want to show you how to find the information and use it immediately.
Each letter above the lyrics represents the guitar playing 3-4 notes called a cord.
When playing a song using a chord sheet, your guide is the letters listed above the lyrics. Play through the song, following the sequence of letters as they appear.
Look up the cord names and write them down on the sheet and play those notes.
